Attention Japanese players,

Play professional baseball in the USA. Attend our training camp for 30 days; if you do well you will have the chance to be promoted to the Desert League of Professional Baseball.

stadiumCFAbout us: Desert League is a new independent league in USA. Cost for training camp is $1,500 (US) – this includes housing. Players must provide their own airfare and money for food.

Season starts September 15 in Phoenix, Arizona and ends the first week of November.

Arizona Tryout: 15 Invited To Main Camp

Desert League held a one-day tryout in Superior, Arizona on June 21. A solid turnout resulted in 15 players being invited to the league main training camp in September.

Three One-Day Tryouts Scheduled For Summer

On the heels of a successful one-day tryout in the San Jose area, where ten players were invited to the Desert League main camp, the league is happy to announce the addition of three additional tryouts.

June 18 – Las Vegas, NVf0cce9afc8a2249b7da2ff063dacac25

June 21 – Superior, AZ

July 17 – Riverside, CA

All three tryouts include a four-hour session with league personnel. Players may be offered invites to the main camp in September or signed directly by a team.

Desert League Adds Experienced Mexican Leaguers

The Desert League has announced that two veteran Mexican League players will be reporting to Training Camp in September in hopes of making the San Luis Dorados roster this season.

Nick Garcia, a shortstop and third baseman, spent four seasons in the Baltimore Orioles organization before moving south to the Mexican League. He played for 11 seasons at the Triple A level compiling 883 career hits. His career high was in 2003 when Garcia hit .328 with Puebla Pericos.

Garcia hails from Ciudad Obregon, Sonora where he was a 19th round draft choice of the Baltimore Orioles.

Claudio Sanchez pitched ten seasons at the AAA level in Mexico appearing in 360 games as a reliever. His best season was in 2010 at Dorados de Chihuahua where he was 3-0 with a 4.12 ERA. Sanchez lives in San Luis, Sonora.
